Hello! My name is Elizabeth Henson, and I am the co-owner of Heart of Michigan Gifting Co. alongside my mother, Lynette. We launched our gift basket business in February 2026, inspired by our love for Michigan and a desire to create an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
My family also owns Doodle’s Sugarbush, a maple syrup business that has provided Michigan-made maple syrup and confections since 1998. I grew up watching my parents work tirelessly to build a business around their passion, and I have been fortunate to inherit their entrepreneurial spirit. After graduating from Northwood University in 2025 with a degree in entrepreneurship, I decided it was time to begin a venture of my own. Through my involvement in our family business, I have seen firsthand the hard work and sacrifices required to build something meaningful. Those experiences have taught me that passion is at the root of every successful business.
My Love for Michigan
My passion for Michigan began when I first started learning about the United States. I was fascinated that I happened to live in a state shaped like a hand, as though God placed His hand upon the earth and created the place I am proud to call home. Since then, I have found myself quite lucky to be placed in a state where I can experience every season, enjoy the vast, beautiful Great Lakes that make Michigan so iconic, and drive through the state that put America on wheels. From the farmland that helps feed families across the country to the breathtaking sand dunes and historic communities that tell the story of our past, Michigan is filled with beauty, character, innovation, and hardworking people. I feel incredibly fortunate to call the Great Lakes State my home.

Each box also includes an informational flyer featuring interesting facts about Michigan and its history. I added this special touch to help spread our love for the Great Lakes State, celebrate its unique heritage, and inspire curiosity about the place we are proud to call home.
